| 'Home of the Worlds Best Mocha'. That's a pretty bold statement, but that's what you see when you first walk in this hidden jewel coffee shop right by Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach. While I wouldn't say its the worlds best, the coffee at Pacific Bean is certainly excellent, and one of the cheapest cups of coffee around - $1.50 for a medium coffee! They also offer over 25 different mocha's to suit everyone's taste, including peanut butter and coconut mochas! One of the best things to do here is to come during the afternoon, grab a mocha and stroll up and down the boardwalk and pier, just a matter of feet away. |
| Although a very small coffee shop, with limited seating, the people that work in Pacific Bean are very friendly and really make you feel at home. They do have a small outside patio too - great for people watching. While they don't officially offer wireless internet, you can actually get on a wireless network there that appears to be the neighbors (subject to change of course!). Not exactly big enough to meet or study, so the lack of big tables doesn't really matter. And even though they don't offer much food, there is some excellent neighboring places to take your coffee like the sublime Kono's breakfast place. |
